C. Conventional
D. All of the above
E. Both A and B, but not C
The answer you provided is E. However, according to the textbook (p187),
self-actualizing, humanistic-encouraging, and affiliative.
Passive-defensive's normative beliefs include: approval, CONVENTIONAL,
dependent, and avoidance. And last, Aggressive-defensive's normative
beliefs include: oppositional, power, COMPETITIVE, and perfectionist.

Question: I still have been trying to understand the slides, and I think the thing that is confusing me is that I don't understand what departmentalization is in general. Is it that it is grouping responsibilities? And I'm confused what the hybrid/ matrix designs mean as well. Is the only place this is explained in these slides? If it is I can google the information and try to get a better idea.
Answer: Yes, departmentalization is the grouping of work activities into departments. Most of the structures or designs covered in class (by function, by process, by region, etc.) and on the slides are different forms of departmentalization. A hybrid form is one which groups some activities by function and others by some other category (process, product, etc.).
If you are still unsure what a matrix organization is after studying the review slides and searching elsewhere, email me and I’ll explain it to you again.
